Leaving tonight on a big jet plane to Europe for the next 3 or so months. First stop Paris then Madrid & Barcelona then traveling the Greek islands and all over Germany then off to London, Amsterdam and maybe pay Italy & Sweden a visit. But I will be taking thousands of photos, and will try to update as much as possible. Most quick updates will be posted HERE.

I guess this is why I like this photo I took the other week at the New South Wales Art Gallery in Sydney so much, it reminds me of the architecture and culture in Paris, gahhh can't wait!!

This week I have had the absolute pleasure of hanging out with up-and-comer, Jana Byrne as she prepares to launch her spectacularly innovative range of eco-friendly (and super stylish) women’s shoes. Jana Byrne’s ‘Separables’ have been designed to individually suit you and your changing needs, and are hand made entirely from natural materials and LEI (Indonesian eco-labeling institute) wood.

How it works is, you start by choosing a heel then match it with multiple uppers. Interchangability is easy, the press studs on the side of the heels facilitate in the versatility of upper elements, which are pulled apart and added to create new looks. Last Tuesday Miss Sammie-Lyla & I attended Ksubi & Kirin's Big in Japan Party which was very interesting to say the least, but the real party was afterwards at Flinders where we got loose with some of Japan's finest Dj's, including this dynamic duo (who's name escapes me.. anyone?.. Bueller?...) who mix techno with oriental folk music topped with live vocals, their sound was like nothing i've ever heard before. It's true, pictures do say a thousand words and you can thank the lovely Patrick from Hobogestapo for these awesome snaps (don't mind Sammie's Jut sprawled out there...) and many more that can be found HERE.

Original Vintage Dior Tiger Jacket, Antipodium 'Thank Christ' Dress, Vintage Chain Bag, Large Stud Bracelet from Fringe Bar.

These photos are about a month old, but very noteworthy as this was the night I finally gained the balls to wear my beloved Dior jacket, it's my baby, I bought it in a vintage store in Paris and have been too afraid to wear it in fear that i might trash it... but i didn't!

Also, This amazing dress from London designer Antipodium is noteworthy too, if you can see the collar is detailed with these little gold crosses... very me... In fact, I am in love with their entire 'Brides of Christ' collection! Have a look HERE its worth checking out.

Gary Pepper is quickly growing to become one of the best known vintage outlets in the world. I recently got the chance to ask Nicole a few questions about all things Gary Pepper Vintage...

1. So Nicole, tell me a bit about yourself...

Oh i'm never any good at answering this question. I'm Nicole, i'm 21 and the owner of Gary Pepper Vintage. I'm a buyer, stylist, blogger, friend, designer, a little bit of everything mixed into one.

2. How did Gary Pepper Vintage start up?

Gary Pepper was an idea i had when i was in highschool and it was something i knew i was going to do but seemed to always find an excuse not to do it. One day i honestly woke up, made the decision to stop being worried about what people would think, went out an sourced my first collection and started listing about 20 items after i finished work one day. As soon as i started i couldn't really stop. It just went from there and it's the best decision i've ever made.

3. Where do you find most of your pieces?

I source all of my stock from up and down the coast of NSW, sometimes doing buying trips to Melbourne and Tasmania too. I've started sourcing pieces directly from the UK and US and plan on traveling overseas next year as soon as i've established my business and feel confident enough to leave it in the hands of my assistant for a few weeks whilst i go abroad.

4. What inspires and influences the pieces you choose?

Every single piece i choose for the store is something i would personally wear myself. This store is a reflection of myself and my style so it's never too hard to source stock, i just see something i like and buy it. Simple, really.

5. What processes are involved in selecting and selling your pieces?

The process is so tedious and long and i think it's the biggest misconception about my job. You have to travel high and low to find those amazing vintage pieces which is the easy part. When i get home i have to wash, press, alter, hem and measure a large majority of the pieces. Then photographing each item begins which is followed by editing the photos, uploading and eventually listing each item on the ebay store. Imagine trying on a few outfits in a change room at a store and how tiring that is, then multiply it by 150 items and that's my job.

6. What has been your biggest milestone so far?

Every single milestone is different and rewarding on it's own level so it's hard to pick just one. I would have to say collaborating with Jeffrey Campbell and high end boutique, Tuchuzy in Bondi, and being published in magazines around the world is at the top of my list. My biggest achievement so far has just been 100% confirmed and it's way beyond my wildest dreams. I can't really say anything about it yet but in a month or two i'll be able to announce it, and very excitedly, might i add!

7. What's next for Gary Pepper Vintage?

I've just hired an assistant, Chloe, who is just amazing and has helped me to divide the daily responsibilities that comes with my job. It's left me more time to focus on other projects and i'm hoping in the next month or two i'll be able to launch my webstore, which will offer my customers all buy it now prices. I also plan on traveling overseas to get my designs produced and launching my own label over the Summer so fingers crossed it all goes to plan!

8. And last, but certainly not least, Who is Gary Pepper?

Well i've just found out that Gary Pepper is in fact a real name and whilst Gary's some thought it was hilarious, others weren't too happy with the idea of them selling vintage, mostly because they were all males! But Gary Pepper was an original name my boyfriend came up with and i fell in love with it instantly.

In my eyes, Gary Pepper is a girl who is inspired by life, a lover of vintage and the history behind it. She lights up the room when she walks in, she's a friend, she's an optimist, and she's hard not to fall in love with. The Gary Pepper girl is unique and and has something about her that simply can't be taught. She really is, one of a kind.

From the textured prints to the knee-highs and killer platforms. The "Prep School Cyber Punk" Style of Proenza Schouler's Fall/Winter 2010 show really caught my eye during todays procrastination session.
What really does it for me is the contrast of patterns on sheer fabrics and furs. I am also taking a real liking to the dark green and blue tones, very 90's androgynous, i like it.

This week Sammie, Alysha, Nick and I got loose at 'The Club'. I never in my life thought i would find myself pole dancing in clogs, but hey. Pretty loose night was had by all, especially as it was intended to be 'just a gathering'... I found myself at Bondi Beach McDonalds at 2am. I couldn't resist this top from Ksubi, it has all this velvety writing over the mesh with things like "KILL" and "GET HIGH" and various symbols. The shoes are a recent buy aswel.. mmmm baby baby. Its all a bit grungy, i realised this when my mum asked me the other day "are you ok, your clothes are worrying me" haha stupid woman.

The Modern Day Cowgirl look, made famous first by Chanel I believe, incorporates leather cowboy hats with 70s flares and dusty tan and berry tones. My favorites are the platforms, especially those in the first picture, look at the heel on those badboys yummehh.
